Assessing trade qualifications for those in the UK wanting to live and work in Australia
Australian Construction Training Services Pty Ltd (ACTS) is a leading Australian training company, endorsed by the Australian Federal Government and the construction industry to conduct workplace skills assessments and ensure future workers meet the increasingly-high standards of the Australian construction industry.
Our clients are typically those who have worked in construction for a minimum of four years and have no Australian formal qualifications, but wish to have their skills recognised for migration and work in Australia. Pathway E entry requires applicants to hold an AQF Level III qualification. This is achieved by ACTS, through our unique ‘workplace assessment’ process. In many Australian states, it is now mandatory to have an AQF Level III qualification in the construction trades for the purpose of licensing, to employ or supervise an apprentice and to work in a contracting or sub-contracting capacity.
Despite how many years our clients may have worked in their respective trades in the United Kingdom, those looking to live in Australia and work in the construction industry, all require an AQF Level III Qualification.
It is an AQF Level III, plus other “hit the ground running” services that allows the client to work in such industry sectors as carpentry, plastering, tiling, waterproofing, roof plumbing, cabinetmaking, shopfitting, bricklaying, painting and decorating, concreting and solid plastering when they arrive in Australia.
Applicants are required to provide documentary evidence of at least four years working in these trades through providing references from industry competent colleagues, identifying locations where ACTS can view their work in the UK, and proving that they have the underpinning knowledge of the trade.
The AQF Level III, issued by ACTS is recognised by all states and territories of Australia and is also recognised by Trade Recognition Australia (TRA). ACTS has obtained written conformation form TRA, that its processes and outcomes will be accepted by their process.
